A statement of condolence from the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) on the death of Dimitris Kyzas.
The statement reads: “A great figure in Cypriot soccer, Dimitris Kyzas, passed away yesterday, Sunday, at the age of 73.

Kyzas made history by playing for the Paralimni Youth Club starting at the age of 14. In 1975, he joined Panathinaikos and later played for Panachaiki.
He played for our national team in nine matches during the 1970s and 1980s and scored one goal.
He made his debut as a substitute in a friendly against Greece in April 1975 at GSP Stadium.
Five years later, in January 1980, he scored on a penalty kick in a 1–1 friendly draw against Greece at the GSP Stadium.
He played for our national team for the last time against France on October 11, 1980, as part of the qualifying round for the 1982 World Cup.
The President, the members of the Board of Directors, the General Director, and the staff of the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) extend their sincere condolences to his family.
