Manchester City defender Mark Guehi had kind words for AEK ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League match between the two teams at the Etihad.
“We know AEK is a good team; they won their first game in the group stage. They have good players up front, like Jović and João Mário. They have very experienced players on offense who can cause problems, so we need to be prepared and ready. They’ll come to make it a tough game for us and will likely strike on the counterattack. I hope we do well and get the three points,” he said.

His team has gone 7-0 in the Premier League. “We have a lot of back-to-back games; I’m grateful that we’re getting good results, and I hope we can keep it up. The coach has the team united, the fans are behind us, and we’re doing well,” emphasized the English international.
Regarding his partnership with Erling Haaland, he noted: “I’ve never played with a player like him up front—only with Kane. He’s a fantastic player and a leader.”
As for how the team is affected by the allegations facing the club, he said: “It’s easy to hear the noise and let it affect you, but I’m glad the team is united and focused on soccer.”
