There is intense concern at Heraklis following the derby against PAOK at Toumba, with Walter Mazzarri’s future as head coach now taking center stage. The Italian coach appeared particularly frustrated by what happened during the match and, above all, by the refereeing decisions of Vasilis Fotiadis, prompting him to request an immediate meeting with the club’s chairman, Panagiotis Monemvasiotis.
The tension was evident immediately after the final whistle, as Mazzarri chose not to appear at the press conference. Heracles was represented by his close associate, Eugenio Sena, who revealed that the Italian has requested an immediate discussion with Monemvasiotis regarding what happened as well as the team’s future.
According to reports following the match, Mazzarri is even seriously considering the possibility of leaving Heraklis and Greek soccer. His dissatisfaction is intense, and he believes his team was wronged at Toumba, with the upcoming meeting with the club’s president and majority shareholder now taking on decisive importance for the future of the partnership between the two sides.
