The African Football Confederation has come out in support of Gianni Infantino remaining in the FIFA presidency.

In a statement released yesterday, it made clear that it fully supports him, expressing its confidence in his abilities and his intentions.

“We unanimously reaffirm our support for Gianni Infantino. We thank him for his warm support of African soccer,” said Patrick Motsepe, president of CAF.

This move by the media is considered expected, as immediately after Infantino’s reversal regarding the World Cup’s commercial rights, four senior CAF officials had expressedtheir satisfaction with this development and their support for the FIFA president.
