Yiannis Maniatis is very close to joining Anorthosis, with a report by sport-fm.gr revealing that the former soccer player is in advanced talks with “Kyriá” to take on a high-level role within the team.
Previously, the 40-year-old served as technical director of the youth academies, primarily for Olympiacos B, and also served as group loan manager. He has also completed the specialized UEFA MIP V (Master for International Players) training program at the UEFA Academy.
Here is the report in its entirety: “Yiannis Maniatis is poised to take the next significant and very high-profile step in his career.
According to information from sportfm.gr, the former soccer player is in advanced negotiations with Anorthosis to take on a high-level role.
At 40, he is a man who, ever since choosing to retire from active play, has been constantly exploring ways to further his career. He has served as technical director of the youth academies, primarily for Olympiacos B, and has also served as group loan manager.
He has completed the UEFA Academy’s specialized UEFA MIP V (Master for International Players) training program. At the same time, he traveled to Switzerland as a guest of UEFA and was among the keynote speakers for the “Sporting Director” program, which was also attended by other former soccer players.
Now, he is taking a major step forward in his career as he assumes a key position at one of Cyprus’s most historic and largest clubs. Anorthosis, in fact—just to add a little more… to add a bit more spice to the story, had shown interest in Maniatis even when he was a player, though they never actually “sealed the deal.”
The challenge facing Giannis Maniatis is certainly a big one…”.
