A place that’s too tough to be eliminated… third place!

The world champions are back in the final four, having secured their spot with a lot of effort and even more sweat! In a match that started off on the best possible note (a goal by McAllister in the 10th minute), Argentina “disappeared” from the field, watched as Switzerland threatened them repeatedly, and saw Endoi equalize, sending the match into extra time!

But there, the champion’s mettle and a dream goal by Julián Álvarez put them back in front, and Lautaro, in the fifth minute of stoppage time, put the “icing on the cake” of their advancement, sealing the final 3-1 score!

They didn’t rise to the occasion, but… Scaloni’s team remained clinical, playing with an extra man from the 71st minute onward when Embolo was sent off after receiving a harsh second yellow card from Piniero for diving!

A semifinal with a… 1986 vibe, as the “Celeste” will face England on Wednesday, July 15 (10:00 p.m.) in Atlanta.
