Hapoel Tel Aviv has set its sights on Thomas Walkup, according to a report by the Israeli media outlet “Israel Hayom.”
As reported, Dimitris Itoudis’s team is seriously considering the experienced guard and is prepared to move to sign him should he leave Olympiacos this summer.
The 33-year-old Greek national team player is under contract for one more season with the “Red-and-Whites,” however, in Israel, it is believed that Olympiacos’ recent reinforcement of its perimeter—with the additions of Jean Montero and Cody Miller-McIntyre— may affect his role in the team’s lineup for the upcoming season.
Hapoel is looking for solutions at the guard position ahead of the new season, as Chris Jones is expected to continue his career with Red Star. At the same time, the future remains uncertain for both Yam Madar and captain Bar Timor, a fact that is intensifying plans to strengthen the perimeter lineup.
For now, there are no official developments regarding Wokap’s future; however, his name appears to be high on Hapoel Tel Aviv’s list, as the club is closely monitoring developments surrounding the experienced Olympiacos guard.
