Spain won the 2026 World Cup, defeating Argentina 1-0 in the final in New York. Ferran Torres’s goal in the second half of extra time brought La Roja back to the top of the world, capping off a run that strongly evoked the historic 2010 victory.
With this victory, Spain returned to the top after 16 years, bringing its total to two titles in the tournament. The new trophy puts Spain on par with France and Uruguay, while leaving England behind on the list.
The “Rocha” thus returns to the world soccer stage in the most emphatic way possible, thanks to a goal that will go down in history.
