At the press conference he held to mark his first year as president of the Cyprus Football Association (CFA), Haris Loizidis responded to a question about the change in APOEL’s corporate status.
As he noted, the Federation and UEFA have no say in the discussions; they simply presented the facts, and only if those conditions are met will their request be approved.
His response in detail: “The Cyprus Football Association (CFA) and UEFA have no role or say in the agreements made by the clubs. We do not know what agreements the investors in APOEL will reach with the existing shareholders of the company and the club. With this in mind, we informed the investors that this framework exists, and if they adhere to it, then the club’s license may be transferred from the existing entity to the one the new investors intend to establish. We have no further information. Beyond that, if they reach an agreement among themselves, they must formally submit their request, since we have not received anything official so far.”
