In this way, Panathinaikos essentially announced the completion of the major transfer, with Ounai now on his way to Athens to finalize the last formalities of his return.
This transfer is by far the biggest in the club’s history, marking yet another financial feat by Panathinaikos owner Yiannis Alafouzos.
The goal of the club and its powerful leader was to do everything possible to ensure that Ounai would once again wear the green jersey—and that’s exactly what happened!
For his part, Stefanos Kotsolis managed to close the deal with Girona on the best possible terms for Panathinaikos, following tough and lengthy negotiations!
From the very beginning, the player was a staunch ally in reaching the agreement, doing everything in his power to return to Athens. He shook hands with Panathinaikos on a four-year contract, with a salary that will not disrupt the team’s internal balance.
Clearly, Jacob Nystrup had given the “go-ahead” from the start to add the Moroccan star to his roster.
The magic is back.
