Stelios Andreou is back in the transfer spotlight!
According to reports from Israel and “sport5.co,” it is reported that Maccabi Tel Aviv is in talks with Wiśnia Łódź to acquire him on loan with an option to buy.
The financial difficulties faced by the Polish team appear to be facilitating the negotiations, while the issue of the 23-year-old defender’s salary remains unresolved. Maccabi is seeking to finalize the deal with as little financial risk as possible, having had the Cypriot center back on its radar for quite some time
Here is what the report says in detail: “Maccabi Tel Aviv is in advanced negotiations to sign Cypriot defender Stylianos Andreou, who currently plays for Wiśnia Łódź in Poland.
The Israelis are trying to take advantage of the difficult situation facing the Polish club, following the collapse of its financial venture, which is forcing it to release several players.
According to the report, the deal may involve a loan with an option to buy, an arrangement that would allow Maccabi Tel Aviv to acquire the defender without significant financial risk. Andreou, 23, is considered a fast player with great potential, while figures in Cypriot soccer describe him as a very high-level defender.
Last season, Andreou earned approximately 300,000 euros per year in Poland. However, his agent is now seeking a contract worth approximately 400,000 euros per year in order to finalize his potential transfer to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
This isn’t the first time Andreou’s name has been linked to Maccabi Tel Aviv. Last summer, he was one of the two leading candidates to bolster the team’s interior defense, but in the end, the Israeli team decided not to proceed with the transfer.””
