AEK defeated Omonia 2-1 on May 29 in Peristerona in the fourth matchday of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan.
After the match, the coaches of both teams, Fanzio Buijs and Rubén Segues, gave statements.
Here are their comments in detail
Fanzio Buijs
“Congratulations to AEK. There’s definitely a difference in quality between the two teams, but we gave it our all. I’m satisfied with my players; they gave it their all on the field. Unfortunately, we conceded a tough goal at the end and weren’t able to get anything out of the game. Nevertheless, it was a good performance, and we’ll build on that moving forward.”
Rubén Sayés
“Congratulations to our opponent. We knew they’d be strong defensively and on the counterattack. I think the first 60 minutes were tough for us. We managed to score a goal, but they equalized on a counterattack. In the second half, and especially after the 60th minute, our substitutions allowed us to turn the game around and add strength and speed up front. We’re happy; we’re heading into the break with three points. It’s time to take a little… breather, and when we return, we’ll recharge our batteries and keep going.”
