The election to choose the next FIFA president is scheduled for March 27, 2027, and will take place in Rabat, Morocco. Infantino will seek to secure another term as head of the World Football Federation.
FIFA has made it clear, in fact, that there has been no change in Infantino’s plans, despite recent developments and the debate surrounding the World Cup proposals.
This announcement does not constitute a new declaration of his candidacy, as Infantino had already made his decision public on April 30, 2026. It is essentially a confirmation of his intention to run for the presidency again.
As FIFA noted:
“The FIFA President announced in April that he would stand for re-election in 2027. Of course, nothing has changed. Mr. Infantino will be standing for re-election.”
