Omonia Aradippou’s general manager, Giorgos Heracleous, spoke to “SUPERSPORT 104.0.”
He then highlighted the duration of the preseason and the upcoming friendly matches, as well as the possibility of bringing in players on loan from other Cypriot teams.
Here are his comments in detail
On the team’s planning: “We’re not rushing things. The planning committee is handling the procedures, and we’re being patient regarding certain players we’re interested in. We want to sign players who can help us and who fit within the team’s financial constraints.”
On fitness testing and the start of preseason training: “The players’ fitness testing begins today, while the official start of preseason training is scheduled for July 13.”
On preseason training: “Pre-season training will take place mainly at the team’s training center, with the exception of an eight-day stint in Kyperounta.” Friendly matches have already been scheduled as part of the preseason against Karmiotissa, AEL, Omonia 29M, Anorthosis, Enosis Neon Paralimniou, and Krasava EN Ypsona. The team already includes players such as Zivkovic, Koumouris, Schmidt, Christofi, and Anang, and the goal is to make about eight more signings to complete the roster.”
Is the team close to reaching agreements with any players? “Yes, we’re definitely close with some players. It’s just that the planning committee is following its procedures. We’re being patient because we’re evaluating players we really want.”
On players on loan from teams within Cyprus: “A good example was Mouadip. Loan players can be a significant help when the right choices are made.”
On interest in the team’s players: “No, we haven’t received any concrete offers. However, due to the overall situation, we don’t know exactly where we’ll be next season. We have a limited budget and need to be careful.”
