Another great chapter in the history of Cypriot sports was written at the Mediterranean Games, as Lefteris Neos and Melios Efstathiou took their places on the podium, winning the bronze medal in Men’s Doubles Tennis and securing the sport’s first-ever medal in the history of the Mediterranean Games.
The two Cypriot tennis players staged an impressive comeback in the bronze medal match, defeating the Maltese pair, Alex De Gabriele and Liam Delicata, 2-1 in sets (3-6, 6-3, 10-6).
For Lefteris Neos and Melios Efstathiou, this medal marks the culmination of a long and particularly significant career of service to Cyprus’s national teams. For more than ten years, the two athletes have served the national colors with consistency, dedication, and pride, contributing over time to the progress of Cypriot tennis.

An outstanding debut for Alexa Stais
In equestrian competition, Alexa Stais, riding the horse Kantu 3, was the first to compete among 45 athletes, and together they completed a flawless first round, without knocking down a single obstacle, in a time of 72.48.
Her second round was similarly flawless, with a clean clear jump over all the obstacles, placing her among the athletes at the top of the standings after the first day. The competition will continue on Wednesday with two more rounds. Today’s result will count toward the overall total as usual.
