Bayern Munich defeated Dortmund—featuring Karetsa and Konstantelia—to win the German Super Cup!
With the two Greek forwards standing out and making a very positive impression in their official debut, the Westphalians went into halftime trailing 2-0, and although they managed to cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 75th minute, they never found the equalizer, and so Bayern claimed the Super Cup for the second consecutive year and for the 12th time in its history!
Karetsas started for Dortmund and was the driving force behind their attacks until the 62nd minute, when he was substituted, while Konstantelias entered the game at the start of the second half and managed to put pressure on Bayern’s defense on numerous occasions.
The match at Signal Iduna Park was thrilling from start to finish, with Bayern clearly dominating the first half and Dortmund fighting back in the second, even missing a great chance to equalize in stoppage time.
