David Carmo… saved Olympiacos from a slip-up in the season opener of this year’s Stoiximan Super League!
On Saturday night (August 22) the “Red-and-Whites” put on a very strong performance for most of the match against Atromitos; however, they came up against an outstanding Lefteris Choutesiotis, who shut the door and stopped José Luis Medilibar’s players on more than a few occasions, even saving El Kaabi’s abysmal penalty kick in the 80th minute!
Nevertheless, in the 82nd minute, Karmo—who came on as a substitute for the injured Pirola — found the back of the net and secured a 1-0 victory for the Piraeus side over the Peristeri team at “G. Karaiskakis Stadium,” with Olympiacos getting off to a winning start—albeit a nervy one—in the new league season.
