Jannik Sinner proved once again why he is at the top of the world rankings, defeating Novak Djokovic in convincing fashion 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 and securing his spot in his second consecutive Wimbledon final.

The Italian needed just 2 hours and 20 minutes to defeat the seven-time champion of the London Grand Slam, while also avenging his loss to him in their Australian Open semifinal earlier this year.

Sinner appeared exceptionally well-prepared and left the Serb with no room to react. He served impressively, finishing the match with 16 aces, a 65% first-serve percentage and an 88% point-won percentage on first serve, while he completely dominated from the baseline, constantly putting pressure on Djokovic.

The first set was decided at 4-4, when the Italian broke serve with an impressive down-the-line backhand winner and shortly afterward closed out the set 6-4.

The second set followed a similar pattern, with Sinner securing another break at the most crucial moment and comfortably maintaining his lead, taking a 2-0 set lead without allowing his opponent to seriously threaten his serve.

In the third set, the 24-year-old Italian broke serve in the very first game and never looked back. He held his serve, and a few minutes later he sealed his victory, securing his spot in the next round with yet another flawless service game.

“It means a lot to me. Novak is an inspiration to all of us. I knew I had to raise my level of play, and with the help of my team, we did it,” the Italian said after the match.

In Sunday’s final, the defending champion will face Alexander Zverev, who earlier defeated Arthur Fery and advanced to the Wimbledon final for the first time in his career.

Sinner will be vying for the fifth Grand Slam title of his career and, at the same time, his second consecutive Wimbledon title, in a final that pits the top two seeds against each other.
