Musiala gave everyone a scare, since just a few days after he collapsed during Bayern Munich’s friendly match against Leipzig, he suffered a similar incident during his team’s match against Heidenheim.
The Bayern attacking midfielder himself spoke out publicly to reassure everyone, revealing that these episodes are due to a neurological dysfunction and adding that there is no further risk to his health.
Mousiala’s post:
“First of all, I’m fine!
I’m especially grateful for your messages and support!
I understand that many of you are concerned. Today, I’d like to put those concerns to rest and explain the situation:
I have been diagnosed with brief, transient—but treatable—episodes caused by a neurological dysfunction.
These can lead to incidents like the ones that happened recently, for example in the match against Leipzig or the game in Heidenheim.
I know they may seem frightening at first glance, but for me, at the moment, they’re simply part of my daily life. I’m receiving excellent medical care, which is why I remain very optimistic. Bayern and my personal support network are standing by my side, helping me get through this.
The important thing is that there is no further risk to my health. In close consultation and regular communication with the specialists, it was my personal wish to face this challenge. With the medical approval of my neurologists, I want to continue doing what helps my recovery the most: simply living my daily life and pursuing my passion for soccer. I have taken full responsibility for this decision. Overall, I feel very positive and am on the right track.
What helps me the most on this journey is continuing to chase victories and titles with my team and with your amazing support.
I hope this helps you better understand the situation. At the same time, I ask for your understanding regarding my desire to keep this matter private, sharing it only with my inner circle, the club, and my medical specialists.”
