Kifissia hosts Levadiakos tonight (9:00 p.m.) Levadiakos at the Alexandras Avenue Stadium as part of the 4th matchday of the Super League, in a game in which both teams will be seeking their first win of the season.
The team from the Northern Suburbs, after three matchdays and having navigated a fairly difficult schedule at the start of the season, has earned one point, from a draw against AEK in Matchday 2, a game in which they actually came very close to securing the win.
They’ve also suffered two losses. The first came in Crete against OFI, in a game where the Kifissia-based team could have achieved a better result, while in their most recent match against Panathinaikos—which was a rescheduled game—they suffered a 3-1 loss; and despite managing to tie the score at 1-1 in the 74th minute, they subsequently conceded two goals and were unable to avoid the loss.
The match against Levadiakos is a good opportunity for Leto’s team to earn its first three points.
Levadiakos has gotten off to a rough start in the league, suffering three losses in their first three matches, without even scoring a goal. Specifically, they suffered a home loss to Panathinaikos (2-0), followed by poor performances against PAOK (4-0) and Panetolikos (2-0), conceding a total of eight goals. Giorgos Liagas was left out of the squad after feeling some discomfort, while Panagiotis Simelidis returns.
The Boeotians bear no resemblance whatsoever to last year’s team that contended for a spot in European competition, however, Charalambous and his players will be looking to earn their first points against Kifisia—a team that, in theory, is within their reach.
