Today, October 24, marks three years since the death of Kikis Konstantinou, one of the most iconic figures in the history of Anorthosis, with “Kyriá” honoring his memory by reminding everyone of the legacy he left behind through a statement.
The former president of the refugee club left an indelible mark, linking his name to one of the team’s most successful periods following the Turkish invasion. From 1989, when he took over, until his departure, he won five league titles and two cups.
In detail:
“𝜯𝝆ί𝜶 𝝌𝝆ό𝝂𝜾𝜶 𝝌𝝎𝝆ίς 𝝉𝝄𝝂 𝜥ί𝜿𝜼 𝜥𝝎𝝂𝝈𝝉𝜶𝝂𝝉ί𝝂𝝄𝝊 (1937–2023).
Three years (10/24/2023) have already passed since the late Kikis Konstantinou left us.
A man who was not merely a president, but one of the most iconic figures in the history of Anorthosis Famagusta.
The man who linked his name to the “Great Lady’s” greatest successes following the invasion.
He took over as president in 1989, with a clear vision to restore Anorthosis to its rightful place… among the powerhouses of Cypriot soccer. And he did it!
During his tenure, the team won five league titles and two cups, while the “Antonis Papadopoulos” Stadium became an impregnable fortress, the strongest home ground in Cyprus.
Dynamic, explosive, and deeply passionate about Anorthosis, Kikis Konstantinou will forever remain etched in all our memories as the ultimate leader in the Club’s modern history.”
