Ahead of the Greek national team’s two extremely challenging matches against the Netherlands and Germany at Toumba Stadium, Ivan Jovanović wanted to strengthen the right side.
That’s how Triantafyllos Tsapras earned his first call-up to the men’s national team in his career.
The Panathinaikos right back is expected to travel directly to Thessaloniki to join the rest of the squad and prepare with the Greek national team for the upcoming matches on October 1 and 4 at PAOK’s stadium.
This is a decision by the national team coach to keep the right flank strong, and there is currently no replacement, since Giorgos Vagiannidis also remains in Ivan Jovanović’s plans.
The Sporting Lisbon international fullback has also accumulated a number of yellow cards, is dealing with some minor injuries, and these two reasons led our national team coach to include Tsapras in his plans as well.
