AEK is close to signing Kervin Ariaga. The club is in advanced talks with Levante regarding the 28-year-old star, who is a regular starter at center midfield but can also play as a center back.
Marko Nikolić and Javier Ribalta want to add athleticism to the midfield, alongside the existing players Vitalis, Meyer, Kairinen, Marin, and Mandalo, but also to have an additional option in the center of the defense, where behind the starters Mukundi and Relvas are the experienced Vida and the young Georgiev and Alexiou.
The 28-year-old midfielder from Honduras, who stands 1.91 meters tall, is primarily a defensive midfielder (72 career appearances), though he has also played as a right center back during his career, specifically in 23 matches. Last season, he made 27 appearances, scored 3 goals, and recorded 3 assists in LaLiga. He has 42 caps for his national team and has scored 4 goals.
Ariaga began his career in his home country and in 2022 transferred to the MLS and Minnesota, racking up 65 appearances and 6 goals in one and a half seasons. In the summer of 2024, he was sold to Partizan for 500,000 euros, making 21 appearances in half a season before being loaned to Zaragoza, where he made 17 appearances and scored 1 goal in Spain’s second division. Levante bought him in the summer of 2025 from Partizan for 500,000 euros, and last season he was a starter for the Spanish team in LaLiga.
