Cypriots Abroad: Goals by Pitta and Tzionis, Panagiotou’s Eventful Debut (VIDEO)

The latest news on Cypriot soccer players competing abroad
ALPHANEWSLIVE

As you can see below, the list of Cypriot soccer players competing abroad has grown by two. Nicholas Panayiotou transferred to Utrecht in the Netherlands, while Ioannis Kousoulos signed with Kifissia.

However, the former’s debut was marred by serious incidents. Utrecht was hosting Go Ahead Eagles, but the game was suspended with the score at 1-3 after fans threw objects onto the field.

Among the… foreign players, two stood out. One was Marinos Tzionis, who scored his first goal of the season while playing for Arad in Romania. The Cypriot winger had also scored in the Cup a few days earlier against Minerul Lupeni, and last weekend he opened his league account in a 5-1 victory over Cicirenda, scoring his team’s third goal.

Ioannis Pittas also scored a goal. The Cypriot forward opened the scoring for CSKA Sofia against Spartak Varna, but that wasn’t enough, as the match ended in a 1-1 draw. This was Pittas’s 6th goal across all competitions.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that in Greece we had a Cypriot “derby,” as Yiannis Satsias’s Panetolikos defeated Ioannis Kostis’s Levadiakos 2-0. In Heraklion, OFI, led by Christos Sielis (who is injured), defeated Kifissia, coached by Ioannis Kousoulos, who was on the bench.
