"The King" thanked the organization and the fans for everything he experienced in Los Angeles, emphasizing that it was a great honor for him to wear the Lakers jersey and to strive to carry on the legacy of the great players who came before him.
“No, thank you! It was truly an honor for me to wear purple and gold, trying to carry on the great tradition and legacy of those who came before me. I hope I made some of them proud during my time here,” James said.
The 41-year-old superstar thus concludes a remarkable journey with the Lakers, during which he won the 2020 championship and added yet another significant chapter to his illustrious career.
