Matias Lesor spoke—among other things—about his past and current collaboration with Zeljko Obradovic. The French center for Panathinaikos had this to say about the team’s coach…
“When you play for Zeljko Obradović, it’s something that stays with you forever, I’d say. I believe that every player who played under Zeljko’s leadership and wanted to learn from him carries something with him that stays with him forever,” he emphasized, and continued regarding the team’s roster and the fact that they’re No. 1 in the EuroLeague power rankings:

“I haven’t really paid attention to that since the first year we won the EuroLeague, when we were ranked first every year. And the only year we won the EuroLeague, we were ranked first. That’s why these rankings don’t mean much to me. Reality is what happens on the court when you’re playing the game. Everything else is just a story.”
Finally, he spoke about the Partizan fans and his relationship with them…
“The bond. The bond I have with the people there is unbreakable. Not just with the fans, but with the organization as well. A lot has changed since I was there, but even when I see some of those faces, they immediately bring a smile to my face. These are places that will remain in my heart forever. “Just as they love me, I love them too.”
