Here is what he said in detail:

“I would like to publicly express my sincere condolences to his wife and family. These are difficult times for the family, as well as for the Omonia family. He was a man who always put Omonia’s interests first, above all else. He sacrificed a great deal. We were together from 2000 to 2008; that period had its ups and downs. It was a successful period and, overall, a good run. The most important thing is that when he left, the club was in good financial shape. After that, we all know what followed.”

On his second term: “I returned for three years during difficult times. He managed to get the finances in order until the agreement with Stavros Papastavrou was reached, which proved to be the right decision. After eight years, we can see where this team stands.”

On Doros Serafeim as a person: “We can understand what kind of person he was from the statements made by other clubs. The only thing that mattered to him was helping the team. Anyone who worked with him can attest to that. He asked questions, learned, and offered advice. Omonia was his life.”

Here’s what he himself recalls: “From our collaboration, I learned a great deal from Doros Serafeim that helped me both as a person and as President of Omonia. In difficult situations, amid a challenging atmosphere when I took over, what I had learned helped me cope.”

On the way he handled things: “He had a fatherly attitude toward the players in particular. He gave them advice and was especially well-loved.”
