AEK suffered a 1-0 home loss to Paphos in Matchday 3 of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan, marking its first defeat after two consecutive wins.
The “yellow-and-greens” gave Pafos space and room to operate in the early stages of the match, but then created several chances, though they were unable to find the back of the net.
On the positive side for Rubén Segues’s team was their immediate response after conceding the goal, with the “yellow-and-greens” pushing for the equalizer. However, the crossbar denied Laguioni in the 73rd minute, depriving the home team of the chance to level the score.
AEK must now put this defeat behind them and turn their attention to the next matchday, when on Friday (September 18, 7:00 p.m.) they will face Omonia 29 May in Peristerona.
