“We knew how important tonight’s game was; what we wanted was to put in a very good performance. If we exclude the first 20 minutes of the first half and the first 15 minutes of the second, when we made some mistakes, the team performed very well afterward; all the players put in an amazing performance; it was good preparation for our next Champions League game.
I have a fantastic relationship with the coach, the staff, and, of course, my teammates—we understand each other very well. We have an amazing group, not only on the field but also off it, and that helps me support the team and do what I do on the field,” while speaking about the AEK fans, he said:
“It was an amazing, an extraordinary moment. I’m so happy to hear my name called; the fans give me and the rest of the team extra motivation, and their support gives us extra energy, both on and off the field. Of course, playing at home is different; it gives you an extra boost and makes us all want to perform even better by putting in even more energy.”
