Bonzi Colson is once again a Maccabi player. After two years with Fenerbahçe, the American forward has returned to the Tel Aviv team, where he played from 2022 to 2024, signing a two-year contract.
The 30-year-old star, who will earn $1.5 million per year, averaged 7.1 points, 3 rebounds, and an efficiency rating of 8 in an average of 16:52 per game in the EuroLeague.
The Israeli champions will have a fairly strong quartet of forwards, as Jalen Hord and Osei Brissett will also remain with the team, while T.J. Leaf is also returning.
“I’m incredibly happy and grateful to be reunited with my family at Maccabi,” Bonzi Colson commented on the club’s official website. “Ever since I left, this club, the fans, and the city of Tel Aviv have always held a special place in my heart. I want to thank the owners, the management, and the staff who trusted me and made this return possible. I’m excited and ready to get to work and create more special memories together. See you soon.”
“I’m very happy that Bonzi is coming back home,” said coach Oded Katash after the contract was signed. “We all love him; we know his professional abilities, his energy, and his connection to the club. This is a welcome outcome for him and for us.”
