“Things are “boiling over” at Anorthosis following the decision by the CFF Judicial Committee to impose a one-game closed-door match penalty, as well as a ban on fans attending the next away game.
The Executive Director of “Kyriá,” Yiannis Maniatis, issued a public written statement expressing his strong dissatisfaction with the decision
At the same time, he sent a message of solidarity to the fans, whom he described as the club’s most important asset, calling on them to remain united.
Below is Yiannis Maniatis’s written statement in full:
They are now attacking Anorthosis’s greatest strength—its fans!
Anorthosis is facing a relentless war on all fronts, at a time when a tremendous effort is being made to return the club to where its history demands it be.
You won’t get away with this.
The responsible stance we have maintained to date in defense of the sport now takes a back seat. The recklessness of your actions makes it our primary duty to defend the interests of Anorthosis and Famagusta, which you repeatedly harm and trample upon.
We call on the entire Anorthosis community to rally together and stand in absolute unity against this unprecedented situation.
Our strength has been, is, and will always be our supporters.
Nothing can stop us now.
