Cyprus defeated Armenia 2-0 at GSP Stadium in the third matchday of Group 2 in League C of the Nations League.
Our national team coach, Akis Mantzios, gave a statement and commented on the match.
Here are his comments in detail
“It was a game we had described as a final. We started well, played very tactically, and showed patience. We created several scoring opportunities against a team with considerable quality and speed, such as Armenia. The second half was a different story; we couldn’t be more aggressive, partly because of the red card. Then fatigue set in from the effort, but aside from a few shots on goal, we weren’t really threatened. Overall, it was a well-deserved victory for our team—one we really needed.”
