There is intense concern in Marseille, just a few hours before Marseille’s match against Olympiacos in the second round of the Europa League group stage, scheduled for Thursday evening (Oct. 15, 10:00 p.m.) at the “Vélodrome.”
Despite the definitive cancellation of tickets for the “Red-and-Whites” fans, the situation in the French city remains tense, with authorities on high alert for fear of incidents.
According to videos circulating on X, Marseille fans have been moving through various parts of the city, patrolling the streets and searching hotels for Olympiacos fans who may have remained in Marseille, despite the latest developments regarding tickets.
At the same time, security measures are draconian, with a heavy police presence on the streets and helicopters and drones conducting surveillance flights—due, of course, to the turbulent situation in France caused by student protests.
