Patrick Mouratoglou will take on expanded responsibilities working alongside Stefanos Tsitsipas, effectively forming—along with Thomas Perrin—the coaching duo for the 28-year-oldGreek tennis player, following the second termination of his collaboration with his father, Apostolos.

The French coach of Greek descent had previously worked with, among others, the Cypriot tennis player Markos Pagdatis. He has also worked with Simona Halep, Naomi Osaka, and Grigor Dimitrov.

“I confirm what Stefanos said in his interview, that I will be a member of the team. I will oversee training sessions and matches, and I will work alongside Thomas Perrin, who has been a coach at the academy for many years. I’ve decided not to go on the tour for a while, for professional and personal reasons. The relationship I’ve had with Stef for so many years is very strong. He’s very important to me, and I don’t think he’s where he belongs in terms of rankings and results. We spent a week here at the academy; we agreed to work together for a few days and then find a solution and a good coach for when he’s on tour. “I’ll be working with Toma on a daily basis on the training programs, on all the pre-match analyses, as well as the post-match analyses, to prepare for the matches,” he said, adding:

“I think it’s a good solution. There are many things I can’t see because I’m not here, so I rely on Toma’s observations and feedback to get the information I’m missing. We’re trying to work together as closely as possible. The last two years have been very difficult for him. He had an injury. We’re rebuilding on the strength of Steph,” he added.
