Olympiacos has put its match against AEL Larissa—the opener of the League Phase of the Greek Cup, which resulted in a convincing 4-0 victory—behind it. With today’s training session, the Piraeus-based team will wrap up their mini-preparation for the match against Volos.
The “Red-and-Whites’” starting lineup will feature many changes (perhaps even double digits) compared to the match against the “Purples,” with José Luis Medilibar planning to bring back the starters.
The picture will certainly become clearer once the Basque coach announces his roster, and it’s not out of the question that Gustavo Puerta’s name will be included, who is in good form and may make his debut in an Olympiacos jersey.
The 65-year-old coach knows, on the one hand, that he’ll be facing a team with quality and talent in midfield and attack, and that this match comes just 24 hours after a game against the same opponent in the Greek Cup,, but this time at the “G. Karaiskakis” Stadium.
Of course, Olympiacos will play with the fans behind them at Panthessaliko Stadium as well, as is usually the case. The fans will turn out in droves, having already snapped up half of the tickets that were made available for sale.
