PAOK has officially learned who its opponent will be in the second qualifying round of the Europa League. The “Double-Headed Eagle of the North” will have to overcome Dynamo Kyiv —in a two-leg series—in order to advance to the next round and take one of the three steps needed to reach the group stage of UEFA’s second-tier competition.
The Ukrainians defeated Universitatea Cluj 4-2 in a penalty shootout in Romania, following a 0-0 draw after two 90-minute halves, and celebrated their advancement to the next round.
The Thessaloniki-based team will face Tomas Ketziora’s side, with the first leg to be played on neutral ground. The first match will take place on July 23, and the second leg on July 30 at Toumba Stadium.
For PAOK to reach the group stage of either the Europa League or the Conference League, they must advance through at least two qualifying rounds.
The draw for the third qualifying round is on July 20. The first leg will be played on August 6, and the second leg on August 13. The playoff draw will take place on August 3, and the matches will be played on August 20 and 27.
