Maria Sakkari will face Kamila Rahimova in the second round of this year’s Wimbledon.

Specifically, the 24-year-old tennis player from Uzbekistan, ranked No. 70 in the world, defeated Ukraine’s Angelina Kalinina (No. 66) 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 in the first round of the prestigious Grand Slam tournament.

It is worth noting that the match lasted two hours and 46 minutes and that the Greek champion holds a 2-2 head-to-head record against Rahimova.

Specifically, the two first faced off in the second round of the 2020 French Open, with Sakkari prevailing 7-6, 6-2. Meanwhile, in the first round of last year’s tournament in Cincinnati, she won 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
