Como managed to defeat Napoli at the “Diego Armando Maradona” Stadium in the second round of Serie A, with Tasos Douvikas scoring again, they beat the “Partenopei” 2-1!
Cesc Fàbregas and his players erupted in celebration at the final whistle, as the victory came after a tremendous effort, a fair amount of tension, and a bit of luck in the closing moments, when the Neapolitans found the back of the net, but it was ruled an offensive foul.
Starting from the beginning, in the 17th minute, following a brilliant run by Diao down the right and a pass to Baturina, the latter put the “Larianis” ahead 1-0.
Napoli responded, and with a left-footed shot by Hoilund from the edge of the box in the 30th minute, they equalized; however, Como’s response was immediate!
Baturina found Dubica, who had pushed high up the field to apply pressure, and the Greek forward calmly slotted home with a right-footed shot to make it 2-1, which stood as the final score.
In the second half, the home team frantically searched for at least the goal that would have earned them a draw, putting considerable pressure on Como’s defense, which seemed unbreakable, but in the 95th minute, the ball found the back of the net.
Fortunately for Sesk and his players, Luca committed an offensive foul on Chaloba, who was behind him (and there was also an offside), before Lobotka, with a brilliant touch and shot, scored—only to see the referee disallow the goal.
