Kalia Antoniou will compete for her second medal—following her gold in the 100-meter freestyle—at the “Taranto 2026” Mediterranean Games.
The Cypriot swimmer qualified for the 50-meter freestyle final with the fastest time in the preliminaries, clocking 25.12—the same time as Italy’s Elena Carpetta. Greek swimmer Anna Doudouanaki, who clocked 25.88 and finished 7th in the preliminaries, will also compete in tonight’s (August 25, 7:10 p.m.) final.
In the men’s 50-meter freestyle, Andrew Lagoutis placed 12th and failed to advance to the final, while Nikolas Antoniou ultimately did not compete.
