The Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team is moving to Cyprus!
According to media reports, which have been confirmed, the Israeli team has sent an official proposal to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Christodoulides, to use our island for its home games in the EuroLeague.

The first contact between the two sides took place during the “Neophytos Chandriotis” tournament, where the president of Maccabi, Simon Mizrahi, met and spoke with the President of the Republic, conveying the club’s interest in this specific request.
On the Cypriot side, the matter was received positively, and barring any dramatic unforeseen circumstances, an agreement will be reached soon.
The only issue that remains unresolved concerns the venue to be used, with the “Spyros Kyprianou” in Limassol and the “Tassos Papadopoulos – Eleftheria” in Nicosia being the two options currently on the table.
