José Mourinho declined to respond to the Sevilla coach regarding the strong complaints he voiced about Arda Güler not being sent off after Real Madrid’s 4-1 victory over the Andalusians. The visitors are up in arms over the incident in the 25th minute, when the Turkish midfielder appeared to strike an opponent off the ball but was not penalized.
“I have no comment. I don’t want to dodge the question that, for you, is at the heart of the controversy. I don’t want to comment on Luis’s (Garcia Plaza) statements. As for the incident, no one has been able to show me what happened. I don’t have a single image. I asked my analysts, who have the tactical camera, footage from the TV broadcast—which sometimes reveals things invisible on the screen—and there’s no footage showing what’s bothering Luis,” the Portuguese coach emphasized.
“I’ll be honest with you: if something ever happens that I believe was beneficial for us, I’ll have no problem saying so. But I think the opposite will happen much more often, because that’s the natural tendency. A great game for Real Madrid, a big win for Real, and I didn’t see anything. “If someone sends me a clear image by Saturday, I’ll be here. But for now, there’s nothing,” he added.
