With a broad smile, Kendrick Nunn spoke about his anticipated EuroLeague debut this season in tomorrow’s game between Panathinaikos and Baskonia.
“It’s been a long road to recovery, but I feel strong again, both physically and mentally,” the American star emphasized. “My teammates were always there for me. I felt that throughout my entire recovery. We’re all in this together now; we have big goals and we want to achieve them,” he added.
“We have great depth this year; we have a lot of talent, and that will help us in such a long season. We have a lot of quality; the coach gives us freedom on offense, but he demands responsibility from all of us on defense,” he added.
As for working with Željko Obradović, he said: “Everything is going well. He’s a great coach, as you all know. He helps us play to our full potential. Every day our chemistry gets better. I have the best job in the world; I have no complaints.”
Regarding his many assists in the game against Peristeri and whether this is a… “upgraded version” of himself, he said: “My look is different (laughs). I always have confidence in myself; I want to create opportunities for my teammates and myself—whatever it takes for the team to win.”
Finally, regarding the game against Baskonia, he noted: “We’ll have to play to our strengths, score points in the open court, and at the same time stop their transition game. For us, controlling the rebounds is key.”
