Scott McTominay has been diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia and will undergo surgery to treat it. According to Napoli, the Scottish midfielder will return to the field after the Nations League break, in about 4–6 weeks.
“Following the onset of a mild, benign arrhythmia, Scott McTominay will undergo corrective surgery to ablate the arrhythmia (PFA) in the coming days. He will be available again after the international break,” according to Napoli’s statement.
The 29-year-old star, who has already made two appearances for the “Partenopei” this season, is a key player for the team, having recorded 27 goals and 10 assists in 82 appearances over the past two years.
