The Nations League returns tonight, kicking off the fifth edition of the tournament with eight matches across four divisions. The league phase will run through November, with national teams battling for qualification as well as promotion or to avoid relegation.
For Greek fans, all eyes are on Belgrade, where the Greek national team faces Serbia at 9:45 p.m. in the opener of Group 2 in League A. One of the night’s most important matches is also taking place in the same group, as the Netherlands hosts Germany, in a match that marks the debuts of Xabi Hernández and Jürgen Klopp as head coaches of their respective national teams.
There is also great interest in Group 4 of the top division. Defending champion Portugal begins its title defense against Wales, while Norway and Denmark face off in another tough opening-round match.
In League A, the top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals in March, with the four winners earning a spot in the final phase in June 2027. Meanwhile, the other divisions are fighting their own battles for promotion and survival in a competition that is also linked to the Euro 2028 qualifying process.
