As has been known for some time, Paphos submitted a contract renewal offer to Derrick Lucasen with the aim of keeping him with the team for the next few years.
However, according to the team’s press officer, Christoforos Matthaiou, the latest development is not… positive.
Specifically, as he told “SPOR FM 95.0,” the Ghanaian center back’s continued presence with the team is becoming difficult, since following the signing of Sami Maé, there is no open spot on the A-list, though nothing has been finalized yet.
Here is his statement in full: “This situation has become more complicated, and the circumstances have changed following Maé’s transfer. For the player to return, someone else would have to leave, since there is no room on the A-list. I have not been informed that the matter has been resolved.”
