Much of the blame for this lies with Ángel López, who appears to have not yet settled on a starting lineup and is still experimenting. Against AEK, he made three changes from the season opener, while against AEL, he fielded a lineup featuring seven new faces.
In the derby against their city rivals, the Famagusta team will aim to be more competitive and chase its first win of the season, heading into the international break with a smile and a sense of calm. As for the lineup, Angielski and Konfe are out.
On the other hand, “The Lady” is at her best following her hard-fought victory over APOEL (2-1); its sole objective is to capitalize on this positive momentum to secure a second consecutive three-point win and maintain this excellent atmosphere until the league resumes.
Nestor El Maestro had the opportunity to calmly prepare his game plan and expects his players to perform with consistency and focus. On the positive side, Van Neef is back after serving his suspension. Bergström, however, remains sidelined.
