Giannis Antetokounmpo’s blockbuster trade to the Miami Heat appears to have caused significant upheaval throughout the NBA.
One of the teams in the running to acquire the Greek superstar was the Timberwolves, with the Minnesota organization now focusing on bolstering its backcourt and pulling off a major trade “bombshell”!
According to revelations by the well-known and respected ESPN reporter, Sam Sharania, the “Wolves” have reached an agreement with the Charlotte Hornets to trade for LaMelo Ball!
In addition to the 24-year-old American superstar, the Timberwolves also acquired Josh Green, with Naz Reid heading in the opposite direction.
In fact, the deal between the two sides includes a large number of draft picks, with the Hornets acquiring the Timberwolves’ first-round picks for 2028, 2029, and 2030, three future second-round picks (2029, 2032, 2033), as well as an unprotected first-round pick for 2033.
Despite the fact that the Minnesota organization has committed… its entire future, it acquired a young star with enormous potential for growth, creating—alongside Anthony Edwards—one of the most explosive guard duos in the entire league!
Last season, LaMelo Ball played in a total of 72 games, averaging 20.1 points, 7.1 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game in 28 minutes of playing time.
