15-year-old J.J. Gabriel, whose family has roots in Cyprus—since his mother is from our island— after four years at Manchester United and having been on the verge of joining the men’s team of the “Red Devils,” he requested that his contract with the club be terminated so he could become a free agent!
This turn of events completely shocked the Manchester club’s management, since they knew they had a young player who could make a splash in European soccer as soon as he joined the men’s team.
Last season, he scored more than 20 goals with the U-18 team and was named United’s Young Player of the Year, while also becoming the youngest player ever to win that award.
Gabriel had scored a hat trick just last week in a UEFA Youth League match; however, immediately afterward, he deleted everything related to United from his personal social media accounts!
