A new era at Aris got off to the most impressive start!
On Tuesday night (September 29) Vassilis Spanoulis’s team celebrated a big road win in their EuroCup opener, with the Thessaloniki squad defeating Le Mans 87-74 at the “Antares Arena,” in the club’s first official game!
After a poor and nervous first quarter, Aris then shifted into high gear and, thanks to its excellent defense, as well as their dominance on the boards, managed to post a 72-48 run over the final three quarters and secure the victory.
The top performer for the winners was A.J. Liddell with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and a player rating of 27, with Robinson-Earl following closely behind with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 assists! Vasilis Toliopoulos provided valuable support, as the international guard finished the game with 13 points and 4 assists, on a night when Aris may have shot just 24.1% from three-point range (7-for-29), but made the most of their 15 offensive rebounds.
