Senegal suffered a crushing 3-1 defeat at the hands of Norway in the second match of Group 7 at the World Cup, but that wasn’t the only negative development.
The Senegalese watched as their goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy, leave the field on a stretcher in the 63rd minute after suffering an injury to his left knee.
According to the latest reports and as announced by the Senegalese Football Federation, Mendy is sidelined until further notice and, as a result, will miss the third-round match against Iraq (June 26, 10:00 p.m.).
